Thirty Years Ago

So I guess time moves without a trace left behind
Nothing to remember from your youth in your life
So many decades have slipped through your mind
Does it just hurt
To remember thirty years ago now

Are we just too miserable
Or is it just inconvenience that
You don’t think about those
Light holidays back in old ‘94
Is it just pain
To go back to thirty years ago

Those many nights and days where
Your father had traversed through the
Sales of PCs just like me and more
It was a different time than today
The competitive field
That no longer appeals

He was the only one who
Had really cared for you after life
Went on without your mother’s embrace
But you knew your life had to go on
Building new memories
And becoming who you
Always wanted to be

And though I’m no longer your new companion
I’ll always be here ‘till I break down one last time
Then you’ll go on using this new hardware
While those old days will go on as history
Then you’ll see a new tomorrow
So you’ll remember thirty years ago
